Instructions for Wearing Your Baby Pouch

Please remember when first putting your baby in the sling to have them well rested and well fed. The baby sling may take a little time for you and your baby to get used to, so just try it out slowly. Your baby sling should feel snug and even uncomfortable at first. But once you put your baby in the pouch, their weight will stretch the sling to make it comfortable for you and your baby.

There are several ways you can carry your baby based on your needs and your baby's age.  Basically, any position you can  carry your baby in your arms you can carry her in a pouch.  Have fun with it, but always remember to use common sense and be safe!  OK let's GO!

  1. Slide the pouch over your head and onto the shoulder that fits best for you. The binding edges should always be near your neck. To hold your baby in cradle or tummy to tummy position, place the seamed part of the pouch (pocket area) in front of your body. If you are using your pouch to hold your baby in the hip position, place the seam along the side of your body

    2.   Now your pouch is ready to be opened like you are opening a pocket.

The fabric should always  be behind and in front of your baby except for the hip position, then the two pieces of fabric stay together.

Cradle Position

This position is excellent for newborns breastfeeding or bottle feeding. You place your baby in the pouch in a sitting position. Rest your baby’s bottom on the inner seam. This position is designed to fit babies 18 lbs. or less.

Make sure the fabric is between you and your baby and comes over your baby’s back. Pull the pouch up high enough over their back to support their back, head and neck.

Kangaroo Carry

Hold your baby in front of you with their legs crossed. Place your baby in the pouch butt first into the bottom of the pouch (inner seamed part). Pull the fabric up around their back & in front above their legs. This position is designed to fit babies 3 months to 22 lbs.

Place your baby into the pouch with their legs straddling your hip. Your baby’s butt should rest on the outside of the seamed area. Please remember to keep the pocket area closed for this position. This position is designed for baby’s with good head control.
